Iskolai élet // School life

Már több, mint egy hete járok iskolába, és kezdem megszokni a rendszert.
Minden reggel 6-kor kelek és kevéssel 6:45 előtt indulok el otthonról, és negyed 9 és fél 9 között érek be az iskolába. Ilyenkor már mindenki benn van az osztályban és csendben tanul. Általában angol könyveket olvasnak, de sokan elaludnak felette. Nagyon meglepett, hogy a japán diákok mennyire keveset alszanak. Az osztálytársaim nagyrésze örül, ha megvan nekik a napi 4 óra. Egyébként minden este tanulnak.
Ezen kívül még reggelente sok szakkör diákjai gyakorolnak. Az osztálytermem ablakából rálátok a teniszpályákra, ahol minden reggel kemény gyakorlás megy. Az egész iskola az iskolai zenekar hangjától zeng, mert ők is ekkor gyakorolnak.
Az egyedül tanulás ideje 8:40-kor ér véget. Mindenki visszarakja a könyveket a helyére, és az osztály egyik része életre kel, a másik része pedig alszik tovább.
8:45-kor bejön az osztályfőnök és rövid eligazítást tart. Emlékezteti az osztályt az esetleges aznapi határidőkre, kiemeli, hogy melyek azok a tantárgyak, amikből jobban kell igyekeznünk.
9-kor kezdődik az első óra. Az órák 45 percesek és 10 perc szünet van köztük. Minden óra elején és végén felállunk és meghajlunk a tanárnak. Az órák nagyrésze a saját termünkben van, csak az informatika- és tesiórákon kell másik termekbe mennünk. Az iskola épülete hatalmas és ilyenkor sietnünk kell. Mivel jó sokan járnak az iskolába, sokan még egyáltalán nem láttak, és olyankor látnak először, amikor a termek között mozgunk, úgyhogy a kawaii megszólalások még nem fejeződtek be.
A negyedik óra után van egy 45 perces ebédszünet. A legtöbben, köztük én is, előre csomagolt ebédet hoznak otthonról, amit a teremben esznek meg. Ilyenkor mindenki beszélget és igazán él az osztály.
Ebédszünet után még 3 óra van, szintén 45 perc, 10 perces szünetekkel.
Az utolsó óra után megint bejön az osztályfőnök, és újabb rövid eligazítást tart. Ezután megkezdődik a takarítás. Az osztály 5-6 fős csapatokra van osztva, és mindenkinek meg van mondva, hogy melyik héten mit takarít (vannak, akik bizonyos heteken nem takarítanak, általában 3 csapat dolgozik, és én nem vagyok beosztva sehova, úgyhogy ilyenkor az épp szabad emberekkel beszélek). Fel kell söpörni az osztálytermet, a terem előtti folyosórészt, és vannak, akik a mosdót takarítják.
Ezek után én indulok haza (vagy szakkörre), de az osztály még marad plusz angolórákra.
A tantárgyaimról is szólnék pár szót. 13 tantárgyam van, amik nagyjából egyeznek az otthoniakkal. A reáltárgyak tananyagából már majdnem mindent tanultam otthon, úgyhogy ezeket értem még akkor is, ha a tanóra szavait nem értem meg.
Világtöri órán épp a középkori Kelet-Ázsiát vesszük, úgyhogy csak egy nagyjábóli képem van, hogy mi történik, de a tanár a beadandómat (le kellett írni a saját szavainkkal azt az anyagrészt, és én kb egy harmadikos-negyedikes gyerek szókincsével leírtam, hogy mit értettem) megdícsérte, hogy egész sokat értettem meg a tanórákból. Ezen kívül, mivel a tanár úr nagyon fiatalos és lendületes, az órákat is nagyon élvezem.
Az óra, amihez semmi közöm nincs, az a kokugo, ami kb a japán nyelv és irodalom tantárgynak feleltethető meg.
Szerencsére a tanár is tudja, hogy még messzire nem vagyok olyan szinten, hogy ilyenekkel zaklatni lehessen, úgyhogy nem is zaklat, vagy hoz nekem külön papírt, vagy hagyja, hogy a könyvet olvasgassam, és keresgessem az új szavakat, úgyhogy legalább nem unatkozom.
Angolon viszont annál inkább. Kétfajta angolom van, nyelvtan és kommunikáció, de mindkettő csak abból áll, hogy mondatokat ismételgetünk. Néha vannak egyéb tevékenységek is, de az tényleg csak elvétve. Persze becsatlakozom, de igyekszem nem sokat, mert az nagyon nem izgi, ha a tanár és a cserediák végigbeszélgetik az órát, és mindenki csak néz.
Nagyjából így néz ki egy átlagos napom az iskolában. Az osztálytársaim továbbra is sokat segítenek, a tanáraim is nagyon türelmesek velem, és ezért a japán nyelvtudásom is napról napra fejlődik.

It has been more than a week since I've started school in Japan and I think I'm getting used to the system.
Every morning I wake up at 6 and I leave the house around 6:45, and if everything goes smoothly (which usually happens so), then I arrive between 8:15 and 8:30. By that time, everyone is inside the classroom, silently studying. Everyone reads English books, but many of them fall asleep in the process. I was really surprised when I heard how sleep deprived are the Japanese students. Most of my classmates are happy with 4 hours of sleep per day. Everyone studies until late night.
Also, in the mornings, many clubs also have practice. From my classroom, I can see the tennis fields, and every morning the club members practice hard. Also, the whole school is loud with the noises of the brass band, who also practice in the morning.
Self study time ends at 8:40, and everyone puts the books back where they belong.
Half of the class comes to life and the other half continues to sleep.
At 8:45, the homeroom teacher comes to the classroom and there is a period called short homeroom. The teacher reminds us of possible deadlines, and she always tells us to study harder.
The first period starts at 9:00. The lessons are 45 minutes long and there are 10 minutes long breaks between them. At the beginning and the end of each lesson, we stand up and bow to the teacher.
Most of the lessons are held in our homeroom. We only have to change rooms for ICT and PE lessons, and at those times we have to hurry for the building of the school is huge. Many of the students still haven't seen me and see me for the first time when I'm movimg between classrooms, so the kawaii comments haven't come to an end yet.
After the fourth break there is a 45 minutes long lunch break. Most of the students (including me) bring lunch from home and we eat it in our homeroom. This is the time when everyone is really alive.
After the lunch break there are another 3 lessons, 45 minutes with 10 minute long breaks between them.
After the last lesson, the homeroom teacher comes again for another short homeroom. Then, the cleaning time starts. The class is divided into groups of 5 or 6, and usually around 3 teams are on duty. We have to sweep the floor of the room and the corridor in front of the room, and also the toilet. After that I go home (or to club activities), but my classmates stay in school for extra English classes.
I would also like to write a few words about my subjects. I have 13 subjects which are kind of the same as my subjects at home.
I have already studied the material that we learn on science and Maths, so evem though I don't get the words, I understand the lessons.
On world history lessons we are studying the history of Eastern Asia in the middle ages, which I know nothing about, so I only have an image of what we are studying there. Also the teacher praised me for my essay (we had to retell the lessons in our own words, and I wrote down what I understood on the level of a 4th grade student), so I guess this picture is enough.
The only subject where I don't understand a word is kokugo, which kind of means Japanese literature and language.
Now, I'm far from the level of these lessons, and the teacher also knows that. She is very kind and helpful and accepts the fact that I'm not participating, and brings me other papers or just lets me read the book and search for new words, so at least I'm not bored.
But oh boy, I am very bored on English lessons. I have two kinds of English, grammar and communication, but on both, we just keep on repeating and practicing the same sentences. Sometimes (rarely) we do other activities too. Of course I participate, but I try not to participate that much, cause it's not fun if the teacher and the exchange student are having a conversation for 45 minutes and the others are listening.
In conclusion, this is one of my days at school. My classmates are very helpful and the teachers are patient with me too, so my Japanese is also getting better and better day by day.
